Akon gets “Locked Up” for failure to appear for a suspended license

Akon got himself “locked up” because he had a bench warrant issued for failure to appear for a suspended license according to TMZ.

Officers say that in September, when Akon was driving a Tesla Cybertruck in Georgia and that it was stranded in the middle of the road.

The police officers stated that Akon was the driver of the vehicle and that the battery for his car died.

Police say they called a tow truck to move the Cybertuck and while waiting, the officer discovered Akon’s license was allegedly suspended for a failure to appear from back in January 2023.

Cops say Akon was issued a citation for driving whilst his license was suspended and released from the scene.

The officer also noted in the report, “An illegal vape in the center console was seized during the inventory and submitted for destruction.”

On November 7th Akon was arrested on a bench warrant.

Akon was locked up briefly in Georgia after being arrested but he is now out of jail

The “Locked Up” rapper was busted in DeKalb County last Thursday … the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to TMZ.

It is unclear on what the warrant was for at this time.
