A London school teacher is accused of engaging in sexual activity with pupils and sending nude photos to children. 

Julia Yeates taught at London Southbank University Academy, a secondary school and sixth form in Elephant and Castle, south London. 

The 28-year-old is accused of abusing a position of trust by engaging in sexual activity with a child twice and by engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child twice. 

She is also charged with engaging in communication with a child regarding allegations she sent nude photos of her breasts to a child.

Yeates, of Monier Road in Hackney, appeared at Inner London Crown Court on Wednesday, May 14. 

During a brief hearing she wasn’t asked to enter pleas, but Judge David Richards set a provisional trial date for October 2026. 

Julia will be asked to enter pleas when she returns to the same court in June.
