Santino Casio, the inmate who stabbed rapper Tory Lanez 14 times in prison, breaks his silence. In an exclusive conversation with TMZ, Casio shared details about the altercation and the events leading up to the violent encounter.
Casio claimed that tensions had been brewing between the two in the days prior to the attack. According to him, there were several confrontations, and he heard rumors that Tory had allegedly placed a bounty on his head. When he confronted Tory finally, Casio said the rapper responded with a similar accusations—suggesting that Casio was plotting against him as well.
Despite the tension, Casio said he attempted to clear the air by approaching Tory to make sure things were “good” between them. After the conversation, Casio said he returned to his cell, but Tory followed him. Casio claimed Tory flashed something he believed to be a weapon, prompting him to react.
“I just rushed him,” Casio told TMZ. “I kept slamming him and stabbing him,” he said, referring to the violent altercation.
When asked if he had intended to kill the rapper, Casio denied it. “No, not at all,” he said. Casio added that after feeling a sharp pain in his leg—believing that Tory had stabbed him—he continued the attack until Tory dropped what Casio believed was a weapon.
Casio also spoke about the origins of their falling-out, saying their beef began when he called Tory out for being “too talkative” and boastful. Before the tension escalated, Casio said the two had a cordial relationship and would even hang out. Things changed, he claimed, once Tory began associating with a different group of inmates.
