Ghetts pleads guilty to death by dangerous driving

Grime MC Ghetts pleads guilty to causing the death of Nepalese Student Yubin Tamang by dangerous driving in a hit-and-run crash in Ilford, east London.

Ghetts will be sentenced in February. The maximum sentence was increased in 2023 from 14 years to life for this offence.

It is said that he faces a up to 18 years behind bars though. He will get maximum credit for early guilty plea.

Ghetts, real name, Justin Clarke-Samuel, also accepted that he failed to stop at the scene after hitting Mr Tamang and that he had drunk alcohol prior to the incident.

Whether he was over the limit at the time (a aggravating factor at sentencing) remains a moot point.

The award winning rapper will be sentenced in February next year.
