A double-decker bus has caught fire in central London.

The back of the number 88 went up in flames at about 06:50 AM outside the Portland Hospital on Great Portland Street, which is now closed in both directions.

All passengers were safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

London Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control by 07:00 AM.

This incident took place close by to Great Portland Street tube station.
