Two alleged killers chased a man into an off-licence and stabbed him to death in a gang “ride out” eight years ago, a court heard.
Ahmed Deen Jah, 24, was stabbed to death in BJ Wines In Freemasons Road, Custom House, on 2 April 2017. Lekan Akinsoji and his school friend Sundjata Keita, both 27, deny involvement in the murder.
Akinsoji is a drill rapper and goes by the street name ‘Cracky Blacks’ but is known musically as CB, jurors heard. The pair were associated with the North Newham alliance which is a coalition of gangs from the north side of Newham.
Akinsoji hailed from the Forest Gate area of Newham which holds the E7 postcode.
The rapper is currently serving a 23-year prison sentence for firearm-related charges, including possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH).
The sentence followed a high-speed police chase through residential streets in East London, during which he and four other gang members were pursued after a “ride out” targeting rivals.n
ashcam footage from the incident showed a person wearing a clown mask pointing a sawn-off shotgun from a car window at police officers. The vehicle was eventually driven the wrong way down a one-way road in Leytonstone, where Akinsoji exited the car wearing the mask.
