In an Instagram post, rap icon Stormzy addressed the McDonalds controversy, reflects on his 2025 and more.

Stormzy recently made a post on Instagram today where he sent a letter to his fans. It began with him stating that at the end of 2024 unexpected twists & turns in his life robbed him of “wide-eyed innocence” he once had.

He then touched on agreeing to take the McDonalds deal in 2025, a decision he said made many of his fans question his character & integrity.

The “Blinded By your Grace’ spoke on having to change his team and spoke on how he was just working and going back & forth from London to Los Angeles.

Stormzy then opened up about his relationship with social media, his fans and careers saying “I hate being online”.

He continued:

“I find it unbearable. I don’t like most things about the internet and in an ideal world I would have no social media.

“When I was younger i bloody loved it here and i loved having the freedom to express myself and interact with you guys…

“But it just doesn’t feel the same”

He went onto speak on how he once loved to post “stupid shit” with his friends but currently prefers to find “peace” away from his mobile device.

The UK Rap giant then went on to state how he is looking to find a “happy medium” and might redownload snapchat or potentially write on SubStack to be more present.

He confirmed that he is working on his fourth album.

Stormzy continues this letter my thanking the people who have been pivotal in his career and life.

Then the Cambridge honuary doctorate gave Grime pioneer Wiley a mention, admitting he has love for him and gives Gospel rapper DC3 his flowers, calling him “The truth”.

He says RIP to his son Enzo and warns us about excessive social media usage:

“Mandem, when you’re scrolling through Insta reels and you start seeing A.I jawns you must close the app”

He then closes the letter off saying “I’m ready”.
