UK rapper Digga D appeared in court today as authorities attempt to seize jewellery they claim was bought with profits from cannabis sales.

The star, whose real name is Rhys Herbert, was jailed for three years and 11 months earlier in the year for importing cannabis and selling 45kg of it on a commercial scale.

Digga D, 25, was arrested at his property in Bracebridge Heath, near Lincoln, in the early hours of 21 February last year while on Instagram Live.

Following his convictions, a Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing was ordered to calculate the amount of money he made from his crimes and to recover those proceeds.

Lincoln Crown Court previously heard Digga D had earnings in excess of £3m from his music career and was due to play a large number of festivals over the summer of 2024.

A preliminary POCA hearing at the same court on Friday (26th September) was told that legal aid had been granted to Herbert in July for the current proceedings.

Ryan Thompson who is representing Digga D asked that the POCA proceedings be adjourned so the ownership of jewellery seized in the case could be established.

He also said some of the jewellery may have been bought for Herbert to display during his music videos or be leased from another company.

Judge Simon Hirst adjourned the hearing until 9 January and asked for details of Digga’s financial transactions during the relevant period to be disclosed.
