Megan Breen, 23, partook in a three-month long “inappropriate relationship” with an unnamed prisoner.

This occurred when Breen was working at HMP Usk and HMP Prescoed which are both situated Gwent, South Wales.

Breen who previously plead not-guily to misconduct in a public office but today changed her plea to guilty.

Another allegation of illegally accessing a computer will not be proceeded with.

Although Breen was released on bail she warned that she may face prison time when she returns to court for sentencing next month.

The charge states the former public officer “willfully & without reasonable excuse or justification”.

The offence took place between February and May 2022.
